The lives of many women were transformed during the course of a revolutionary and scandalous pill. Women all over were desperate to find methods and information on contraception and fertility. They wanted to lower the death rate in infants and mothers, have less or no children, become a productive member in the work field (rather than just having men), make their own decisions, and certainly manage their lives. It was due to the norethindrone molecule that made it possible for the creation of the pill or as often referred to as the birth control pill.
"Iraida"..her response was short and to the point. I've seen her previous comments and she has doen a great job, and for this chapter i guess she just read it and summed it up quite nicely. She could have definetly written a lot more. Im used to seeing long passages from her :) but she did a good job in writting and readign the chapters. I agree with her brief comment. I see two grandmothers and other family members(women) who had a lot of babies at a very young age, many died and many lived, but "the pill" could have helped them a lot. - What i found interesting was how serious it was when it came to giving out information on contraception, to the point of it, being a CRIME! Nowadays its almost a LAW to give out informtion to teenagers, women, elder women, any one about health over all including sex, STDs, and thinking how it was back then , its just - crazy!
In the 20th century antibiotics along with antiseptics were saving many lives. Less people were dieing from infections, decreasing everyday, things were actually looking better for once. Norethindrone; the first oral contraceptive, also known as the pill. The pill is now called the birth control pill. Though out centuries women have swallowed many types of substances hoping to prevent conceptions. Unfortunately nothing worked. Norethindrone also known as steroids is a chemical products which is now illegally used by athletics. Cholesterol is mostly found in animal tissues and also in human fall stones. Cholesterol had a very bad reputation, but we actually need cholesterol in our system. Every male goes through puberty in which he grows facial hair on face and body. He also grows heavier muscles. Along with males, females also go through puberty in which they grow breasts and wider hips and start menstruating. Testosterone is a steroid which helps muscle growth. Testosterone is mainly used illegally by athletics. Even though steroids help muscle growth it is also has negative effects. Taking steroids increases the risk of liver cancer and heart disease. Along with shrinking of the testes for men, so although steroid have a good use for medical reasons, they are not for taking to cheat during sports. The birth control pill was a serious deal. This was giving women control over their lives, bit time. Russell Marker, a very modern chemist. Marker created a producer in which pure synthetic progesterone was given chemical industrial to the one produced in a female’s body. But as time passes and Marker discovered many other species of Dioscores, he found and that the cost of synthetics progesterone crashed. With that in mind, Marker was ashamed and he destroyed all his findings. although marker destroyed all his findings with all his acknowledged it made possible to make the birth control pill. Cartisome is useful in treating arthritis. Making cortisome took 32-stps and believes it or not that a long time and it was also very expensive. Djerassi, another chemist had found a way to produce had found a way to produce cortisone at a much lower lost for a plant source which was like diosgenin. dierassinis also known as the further of the pill. These pill is used would wide today, Margaret Sanger, was the 1st women to receive a degree in biology, from MIT. The states had many restrictions over birth control in a way it was an illegal process. While hard at work by many people including, Margaret Sanger and curl Djerassi the birth control pill was made but not many people favored it. Even though the pill raised many questions still lye underneath. Why was it made? Why not for males? Well it would be very hard. An egg is made once a month and millions of sperm cell are produced everyday. With the pill many things have changed. Although the pill might have its bad qualities such as long tern effects and later birth defects; it had chanced the lives of women. The birth rate had dropped dramatically along with women gaining power and education. The question to ask yourself is can a pill really make a big difference?
